16 Day Durga Puja at Samaleswari Temple. Sodasha (16 days’) Durga Puja rituals at Maa Samaleswari Temple, Sambalpuri will begin on October 06 and lighting of Manasika Deepa (Holy earthen lamps offered to appease the Goddess for fulfilment wishes of Devotees) will start on October 06.
Maa Samaleswari Temple authorities has released a schedule for this year’s Durga Puja at Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur, Odisha.
According to the schedule, “Pua Jiuntia Osha”, a special ritual, will also begin at the temple from October 06. The Goddess will be adorned in Dhabalmukhi Besha (White face get-up) by devotees on October 14, on the eve of Mahalaya.
“Maha Saptami and Mahashtami Puja will be held on October 1 and 2, respectively. Similarly, Maha Navami and Maha Dashami Puja will be conducted on October 20 and 21, respectively,” .
